The Bunnery Staffordshire. Boarding for rabbits and guinea pigs.Rabbit boarding and accommodation.

:: The Bunnery:: rabbit boarding, rabbit accommodation, rabbit kennels

We opened the Bunnery in December 2007, since that time we have regular cutomers from as far a field as Scotland, London, Wales and more! We have built a highly successful business, but we NEVER forget our 1st priority is the health and well being of all pets.

My aim at the Bunnery is to make sure your little one has the best care possible, and if your pet should be poorly, I can confidently spot any problems, and get them sorted out for you. I have under gone intensive initial training, this is followed up regularly at our Head office in Bromsgrove. You can have total peace of mind that your pet will have lots of love and attention while you are away - round the clock care, 24 hours a day.

I have already saved and improved the lives of a number of pets which have been in my care.

Over past years I have repeatedly struggled to find a good home for my beloved pets that I considered worthy and adequate to look after them while I had a holiday. Until a few years ago, I relied on family and friends to either take them in or come to our house each day to feed and water them. Then I would spend the whole 2 weeks worrying about whether they were ok, had they eaten, were they ill, would my family spot any illness signs and no-one could possibly look after my babies like I did. Does this sound familiar??

I had my very first rabbits when I was aged 4 - Smudge & Snowy. We were told they were 2 males, however, we were soon to have a little tribe of gorgeous white bunnies! I guess that’s when my love of bunnies started!

When I met my husband we wanted pets, but as we had to live with parents for a while dogs and cats were a not an option, we had 2 lovely black dwarf lops. They were called Lucy and Lily, but we are still not sure where the “dwarf” bit came from as you will see in my gallery pictures! Lucy and Lily taught me a lot about rabbits and in particular that they are an underestimated pet. When Lily was taken very poorly, my vet at the time suggested the unthinkable (needless to say they are no longer my vet!) - but I’m happy to say my Lily proved them wrong with lots of TLC!

Lily suffered a recurring abscess on her spinal cord - totally inoperable, but with loads of love and care, and sleeping with me each night for 6 weeks, I brought her through it. Sadly 3 years later, I lost Lily to a combination of splay leg and her abscess which completely paralysed her, she couldn’t get about. I think Lucy missed her so much she developed problems as well, and passed away shortly afterwards.

My latest additions are Bramble and Bracken two gorgeous MASSIVE French lops who I adore.

I also have chinchillas who I’ve had for several years now. I’m quite mad with them. They have their own bedroom to run round in, complete with cardboard boxes, books and toys. Although they much prefer eating my plaster, skirting boards and doors!

We have just brought a hamster as well for my son, his name is Stakey, but this seems to change on a daily basis.

Our latest addition should have been 2 guinea pigs, however, due to an unforeseen pregnancy we now have a family of 5! I just couldn’t part with any of them!

I love animals, my husband very often comments that they are treated much better than he is. Opening the Bunnery has been a privilege for me. After the birth of my 2nd son, I wanted a job that would keep me at home, whilst earning a modest income, but most of all I now have a job I really LOVE and feel extremely lucky to be doing.
